One of the graduates shared that he continues to be involved with a program called R.Y.T.E. (Reaching Youth Through Education), aimed at “at risk” youth who come to the prison to spend some time with incarcerated men to hear why they ought to change their lifestyles. He shared that recently, he worked with a young girl whose uncle committed suicide. He felt like he was able to help her, given the psychology classes he had in the program. He said that he continues to enjoy working with the kids (he’s been a part of the program for nearly two years), and hopes he and the others are making a difference! He also shared that, in a desire to keep learning, he is attending CAD classes (Computer Aided Design), and hopes to finish and get certified.
