During Pastor Knoll's visit with a 2022 graduate, we learned that one of the graduates' status has changed and he was transferred to a minimum-security facility. In fact, he was excited to share that as of now, he will most likely be going home in early May 2025!
Since arriving, he has been working as a library clerk. He did share that recently, he
was promoted to law clerk because of his degree and his capabilities. He said that he has really enjoyed using his education, not only in an official capacity, but also in leading Bible studies and answering Bible/Theology related questions guys have. He is known for being a Trinity graduate.
The graduate is already planning ahead towards his release. He has formed a non-profit, which is patterned after Habitat for Humanity, but will be felony friendly, and available to everyone. He has a pre-incarceration background in construction and real estate, so the plan is to purchase homes in foreclosure, rehab them, then rent them out to released felons. He will then hire qualified, formerly-incarcerated men to work for him, turning homes.
As he works on his non-profit, he also wants to get involved with local ministry … preferably in
the areas of drug/alcohol counseling. Given that he is bi-lingual (English/Spanish), he believes he could be an asset to most any ministry in the Milwaukee Metro area.
He talked about missing the structure of school, the comradery with fellow students and staff, and the joy of learning. That said, he was also quick to share how much he is looking forward to going home, being close to his family, and living life totally different than before.
