Pastor Knoll was able to visit four of our graduates this past April (three from the class of 2021 and one from the
class of 2022) at Racine Correctional. One of the students was quick to let me know that he continues to take college classes, and has been asked, by his professor, if he would tutor other students in the class (his professor was really impressed with his writing skills!). Another student is working with his home church, developing a program that can be used to guide “at risk youth” in the church. He was excited to tell me that he never thought he could do this kind of thing. Another student continues to be involved in developing a PTSD program with the veteran’s support group. He said that even though he is not a veteran, they were pleased with what he learned in his Psychology classes, so have asked if he would work with them. The final student continues his role as a housing unit clerk, and has had the opportunity to work with men in his unit that need someone to talk to. He shared that he never thought he could help others that way! We are so proud of the way these men are seeking out ways to use what they were taught.
